We already knew that Yoo Ah In’s first voice-dubbing work “The Satellite Girl And Milk Cow” anime will première on February 20 at the local cinemas for general audience. But apparently, a special opening of this film will be held on February 14, in Yongsan CGV at 19:30 for Korean Railway Workers’ Union and their families. What a perfect Valentine’s Day!

The Union’s official states, “To convey the gratitude towards the railway workers who have been struggling against the privatization and for their hard work, the movie production and Yongsan CGV present five simultaneous premieres of domestic anime ‘The Satellite Girl And Milk Cow’ on 14th Feb. About 1,000 workers and their families are invited to watch this movie.”

The press release also added that in this special occasion, Yoo Ah In and Jung Yumi will be participating in the Stage Greetings event, which means the railway workers and their families will stand a chance to meet and greet them directly. Aww…so sweet! Can’t wait to see this event too!

I love his acting, and I love his commitment to what we in the U.S. call the peace and justice movement. Good for you YAI.
By the way I just watched Strongest Chill Woo . YAI did such a great job that I often forgot it was him.

    • Furbabe says:

What I like the most about YAI, besides his enormous acting talent, is the fact that he cares about and speaks up on social issues, which is still uncommon among Korean celebrities due to the fear of losing popularity. So my hat’s off to him 🙂

PS: I could barely watch SCW because basically the story is meh, but people said YAI is the only worth watching in this drama. So proud of him ^^

Do you have any idea why the official trailer has so many downvotes on youtube?

I mean, it’s nothing groundbreaking, but quite far from being bad…Maybe because the animation is heavily Ghibli inspired?

    • Furbabe says:

I have no idea but maybe they are comparing it with Frozen which is huge in Korea right now. Not sure if the downvoters think of Ghibli.

I’ve read all the comments there. Basically they think this is a cheap version of Japanese anime/not enough budget for a Japan “copycat”. We know the negative sentiment Koreans have toward Japan. They forgot this is an independent movie, hence budgeted. Took 5 years to get it done. And I don ‘t think it will get place in big cinemas like other major film distributors always do.

      • Furbabe says:

Just read the comment there and I agree with you. As an indie movie TSGAMC won’t be able to get screen time in major cinema chains. But I’m sure they realized it. If they kept doing it for 5 years despite the “plain” result they get, I guess it’s indie spirit that talks.
