Yoo Ah In Preparing For Military Service, Enlistment Still Unsettled. So Calm Down, Folks!

Yes, the news has been circulating like crazy  this morning about Master Sik gets accepted into Seoul Police Special Promotions Unit. I know there will come the day when we have to send Yoo Ah In away for a two-year military duty. But then, bear in mind the situation now is that he auditioned and got accepted BUT it’s undecided as to whether he’ll enlist it.

On February 17, Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency  stated that Yoo Ah In along with Choi Jin Hyuk, Super Junior’s Sungmin and Supernova’s Sungjae had been selected as part of the final group of candidates up to serve in the police corps as a conscripted policeman.

It was revealed that out all those who had auditioned to enlist as conscripted policemen, only eight people were selected as part of the 47th Seoul Police Special Promotional Unit. Yoo Ah In, Sungmin, and Sungje were among the selected to serve in the police unit. Those who decide to serve their military service under the Seoul Police agency will enlist on a date between the months of May to August.

In regards to enlisting, Yoo Ah In’s agency commented to TV Report, “We haven’t officially confirmed anything, and the enlistment date is still undecided.”

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency also expressed, “There are still some processes such as tests and evaluations the final candidates must take. There is no certain date on when someone is to enlist because we recruit servicemen after there is a vacancy in the unit following a soldier’s discharge. Those who were accepted have different enlistment dates. And they might not even be enlisting this year.”

Past celebrity alumnus who served under the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency include Cho Seung Woo and Ryu Soo Young, while Park Ki Woong is currently serving under the Whistle Theater Group. The Whistle Theater Group which was established in 2000, is a performing group that caters to performing for the handicapped, seniors who live alone, youths and other military personnel.

The group is a representative group under the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, and puts on performances that creates awareness on prevention of child sexual abuse, kidnapping, safety, and others. Other celebrities currently in the group include Lee Je Hoon, Kim Dong Wook, gagman Choi Hyo Jong, and singer Heo Young Saeng.

Now, as far as I know, before going on full military duty, the candidate must undergo a 4-week army basic training. One usually enlists in the latter half of the year after clearing auditions. But since there’s no certain date on when one is to enlist yet, I think this is all still unsettled.

Furthermore, with Secret Love Affair that will take 3 months of drama shoot, and he is about to shoot for Veteran this upcoming March as well, which takes months for a movie to wrap the filming up, I guess Yoo Ah In won’t go any sooner than we thought. He knows when to settle everything up before he completely goes away for two years long.

So chillax, folks!

i think this news is telling us to prepare our mental because his duty call will come eventually, given that he’s 27 yrs old now. Better enlist soon, get it done and over with. i hope we can still see him playing in Veteran in teathers next year, though he maybe already in the army.
