Yoo Ah In Secretly Joins Sewol Ferry Relief Efforts

Yoo Ah In and his colleagues from United Artist Agency (UAA) joined the Sewol Ferry relief efforts, and secretly sending supplies to the family members of missing passengers in Jindo on Friday, April 18.

News outlets just reported today that Yoo Ah In and the UAA artists; Song Hye Kyo and Kang Dong Won, have quietly joined the effort to help the victim’s families of the sunken ferry. The three actors sent blankets, bedding, toiletries and other basic necessities needed by hundreds of relatives of the missing passengers, who waited for good news at a sports stadium in Jindo, a southern port town near the site of the sinking.

Of the 476 people on board the Sewol, 350 were high school students headed for the holiday island of Jeju. As of yesterday, the death toll from the disaster pushed past 60 with hundreds still missing.

The news broke after Song Hye Kyo fans community posted photos of the supplies donated by these stars in their online bulletin board, with the message that the supplies have arrived and passed to the families.

Upon the belated news, UAA stated today, that the actors delivered a few relief supplies on the 18th, and refused the publication as they wanted to respect the mourning period and avoid more burdensome for the publication.

Meanwhile, many programs including dramas have been cancelled by the TV stations due to this national tragedy. So far, JTBC hasn’t announced yet whether Yoo Ah In’s drama Secret Love Affair episode 11 will get the cancellation for April 21 broadcast, but the preview has out since midnight.

Update: The show (episode 11 and 12) is cancelled for this week and will resume next Monday, April 28
