Instagram & Twitter Update February-March 2015: Musics, Leisure, And Works

AINyeong #SIKseekers! We are back againnn… with a whole 2 months of Master Sik’s (and his related-works) SNS activities.

While he’s been busy creating the 2nd issue of Tom Paper magazine and building his new office, Yoo Ah In managed to introduce 3 different songs from 3 awe-inspiring genius musicians whom he likes much. Note that these songs have deeper meaning than just a love song, and cannot just be taken at face value. In addition to that, Yoo Ah In enjoyed many artistic activities and fun gatherings as well. Let’s check ’em out~

2015.02.04 – Watching Michael Buble World Tour Seoul Concert with his friends (including Jung Yumi). Oh wooweeh~~ my fave singerrrr!

2015.02.07 – With friends watching a literature movie starring Justine Waddell through a film projector in someone’s living room~

Justine Waddell is a British film actress, best known for her roles in the 2006 film The Fall and 2005 film Chaos as well as Tess in the 1998 adaptation of Tess of the d’Urbervilles and Estella in the 1999 BBC adaptation of Great Expectations. She won a Prism Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of Natalie Wood in The Mystery of Natalie Wood, 2004.

2015.02.09 – After the McCafe Fansigning event, Master Sik updated his instagram with a photo of ciggie’s ashes and a glass filled with ciggies laying on the floor. He added only a smiley icon πŸ™‚Β  Look how he made a perfect curve from the ashes~

2015.02.17 – In the Lunar New Year’s eve, he gathered with his friends and they played Yutnori (μœ·λ…Έλ¦¬)~^^

Yutnori (also known as Yunnori) is a game that’s usually played by many families when gathering for Lunar New Year’s holiday. Click here for how to play traditional Korean game Yutnori.

2015.02.19 – Dinner out again with his friends, this time in a bulgogi restaurant~ Oh yummy!

2015.02.23 – Finally came back to twitter platform, Yoo Ah In tweeted a YouTube video of Hozier’s “Someone New” live performance~ He commented “μ–΄λ§ˆμ–΄λ§ˆ”, which means “Magnificent!” ^^ Check the lyrics here.

Hozier is one genius musician who has a mission, I should say. And it’s very intriguing to learn about him more. A 25 years old Andrew Hozier-Byrne, known as Hozier, is an Irish musician and singer-songwriter. In 2013, he released his debut EP, featuring the hit single “Take Me to Church”, and his second EP From Eden in 2014. His debut studio album, Hozier, was released globally in October 2014.

His hit single “Take Me to The Church”‘s lyrics detail Hozier’s frustration with the Catholic Church and its stance on homosexuality. The song’s music video has contributed to its widespread popularity. The clip follows the relationship between two men in a same-sex relationship and the subsequent violent homophobic backlash.

Upon its YouTube release in September 2013, it quickly began to go viral, leading to Hozier’s license with Columbia Records. In 2014, the song achieved widespread global popularity, becoming a number-one hit in 12 countries, as well as a top 10 single in 21 other territories. The song has been certified four times platinum in the US.

Hozier explains you don’t have to be gay to see anti-gay indoctrination as an issue worth singing about. Check his interview here [Q&A: Hozier on Gay Rights, Sexuality, & Good Hairs] and here: [Hozier talks about fame and the politics behind hit single Take Me to Church].

However, some of his lyrics could turn to objectionable contents. Just like “Take Me to The Church”, single “Someone New” conveys his message about β€œvapid, vacuous nature of love.” But misuses of God’s and Jesus’ names turn up regularly. It takes open-minded person to appreciate the beauty of his music.

Before he tweeted Hozier’s song, Yoo Ah In mistakenly tweeted his agency’s address to someone (probably an associate) but forgot to mention a specific name. He deleted that tweet, adding the numbers of deleted tweets that he did every year πŸ™‚ It’d been a long time since the last time he used twitter, perhaps Master Sik needed time to “feel” it again :p

Here’s the translations~ “Hello~ I’m sorry for replying your tweets too late about sending the souvenirs. I will accept them gratefully. My company address is located in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Neohyeon-dong 82 Green Building, 5th Floor, UAA. Happy New Year!”Β  ~How polite, Sir!

2015.02.27 – Dinner out again! The room temperature had gotta be warm that he could only wear crisp shirt like that in winter!

2015.02.28 – Also, here is the screencap of Yoo Ah In narrating in KBS1 “Wanna Fly Like Wandeuk” which broadcast that night~

2015.03.04 – He posted his own silhouette in the dark with a glimpse of light which like coming from a camera flash. The background looks like a mirror, window or a projector screen.

2015.03.06 – Another dinner session! Despite having frequent dinners outside, he seemed losing several pounds, don’t you think?

2015.03.07 – Yoo Ah In posted a photo of his laptop showing a YouTube video on instagram. He was watching Justin Vernon of Bon Iver performing a cover of “I can’t make you love me/Nick of Time”. It’s a very beautiful and famous song! As you can see on the screen, Yoo Ah In searched for the song first on YouTube’s search toolbar. He commented, “I can’t make you love me”~

“I Can’t Make You Love Me” is a song recorded by American singer-songwriter Bonnie Raitt for her eleventh studio album Luck of the Draw (1991). “I Can’t Make You Love Me” became one of Raitt’s most successful singles, reaching the top-twenty on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and the top-ten on the Adult Contemporary. The song is ranked at number 339 on the Rolling Stone magazine’s list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

“I Can’t Make You Love Me” has been recorded by a number of other artists, including George Michael, Adele, Bon Iver, Boyz II Men, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Nancy Wilson, Nina Girado, Priyanka Chopra, Robi Kahakalau, and many others. It has also become a popular selection for televised contestants in singing competitions such as American Idol, Canadian Idol, The Voice, The X Factor and others. Check the lyrics here

Bon Iver is an American indie folk band founded in 2007 by American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Justin Vernon. Vernon also involved in Kanye West’s and Jay-Z’s albums. Bon Iver won Best New Artist and Best Alternative Album at the 2012 Grammys.

2015.03.19 – Doing a Throwback Thursday by posting his “thug-for-lyfe” look photo from his trip to Hongkong back in June 2014 πŸ˜€ He commented, “#it’sbeenayear HK”

2015.03.20 – Sending food truck to PD Ahn Pan Seok and filming crews of Heart It Through The Grapevine (I Heard A Rumor) late at night. The staff said thanks to Yoo Ah In for his generous present. The banner says “Please eat well | Yoo Ah In jjang”. I’m sure this banner is made by the food truck company^^;

It seems he still maintains a good relationship with PD Ahn after Secret Love Affair ended, something that’s very special about it, considering complains from his past co-stars of him cutting off the communications with. Expect for Yoo Ah In-PD Ahn second project in the future! Yay!

2015.03.23 – Face time! O-em-gee! What kind of camera effect they used to make people’s faces bloat nearly explode like that? πŸ˜€ Also, Master Sik’s military haircut is very visible here~ Oh no!

2015.03.29 – He posted on his instagram an i-tune screencap of John Grant “It Doesn’t Matter to Him” Feat. Sinnead O’Connor from the album Pale Green Ghosts, with comment “You have to listen to whole length of this music! #JohnGrant”

John Grant is an American singer-songwriter. Formerly associated with the Denver-based alternative rock band The Czars in the 1990s and early 2000s, he launched a career as a solo artist in 2010. His debut solo album Queen of Denmark was released on April 6, 2010. Described as a deeply personal album about his past struggles with alcohol and drug addiction and coming to terms with being gay, it was chosen as Best Album of 2010 by the British music magazine Mojo. In 2011 John Grant was diagnosed HIV Positive.

Pale Green Ghosts was released on March 11, 2013. It was the Rough Trade 2013 Album of the Year. Grant was nominated as Best International Male Solo Artist at the BRITS 2014 and Attitude Magazine’s Man of the Year. In the album Pale Green Ghosts, John Grant sings about being HIV-positive in the track “Ernest Borgnine”, and several other tracks refer to his youth and to a former boyfriend. Singer Sinnead O’Connor is his friend who sings backing vocals on the album. “It Doesn’t Matter to Him” tells one of Grant’s real stories. Check the lyrics here and John Grant’s interview: [How John Grant emerged from the booze and cocaine to find happiness]

2015.03.30 – Tada~~ a giant ballyhoo with unique catchphrase “Looking for U.F.O”. Studio Concrete’s new office is ready to launch!

2015.03.31 – Having a fun birthday dinner of his bestie with a big group of best friends ^_^

It’s so nice to see Master Sik looking so happy from winter to spring! πŸ™‚ Happy April and have a lovely spring to you all!
