Yoo Ah In and Studio Concrete will hold a charity bazaar (flea market) to celebrate the South Korean Children’s Day on May 5. Yoo Ah In plans to give the special contributions by donating five times the profits generated through this charity bazaar separately.
The bazaar or flea market will be conducted on May 5 at 5 PM KST, in Studio Concrete’s yard, Hannam-dong, Seoul. Children’s Day in Korea is a national holiday, so they hope a lot of people will come to participate in this charity event.
Studio concrete is established by Yoo Ah In and his artist friends where he takes in charge as the founder and creative director. For this bazaar or flea market, Yoo Ah In plans to sell a variety of items, including his private collection of over 200 fashion items that he used directly during his career. The items come from famous fashion designer labels such as Burberry Prorsum, Alexander McQueen, Givency, Yves Saint Laurent, Balmain, Prada, Gucci, Dior, Golden Goose, Rick Owens, Acne, Lanvin, Valentino, and Flea Madonna, as well as from his own brand Nohant’s Love City, and many more.

What’s more unique and eye-catching is the 5. 5. 5. 5 contribution scheme. It gives the meaning that the charity bazaar is held on Children’s Day on 5/5 at 5 afternoon, and Yoo Ah In will personally donate 5 times the amount of profits generated from this bazaar separately to fill the target group amounts to 1 billion KRW.
50% of the collected funds will be donated to the Korea Children’s Leukemia Foundation, and the remaining 50% are expected to be used for children, youth and arts education support project which is created by Studio Concrete.
Yoo Ah In has made his charitable donation to Children’s Leukemia Foundation several times, in particular, he continues the support of Korean fansclubs who also contribute donations under Yoo Ah In’s name to the Children’s Leukemia Foundation.
Yoo Ah In has been consistently concerned about the underprivileged children. Since 2010, he has been actively participating in child cares activities. He campaigned the “Child Care” for schools, and opposed the government’s plan on cutting the spending of school’s lunch program. In January 2013 and 2015, he quietly donated 77 million and 100 million Won for children through The Beautiful Foundation as well.
In 2014, Studio Concrete launched The Supporting Business for Youth Cultural Activities for the underprivileged students and to support arts education programs for youth. Yoo Ah In quoted as saying, “One of our great artistic orientations is having a Studio Concrete Foundation which operates as a non-profit business. It will start with a small fund to run a variety of public art projects and improve economic conditions under the Underprivileged Children and Youth Arts Education Support Project.”
Yoo Ah In via Studio Concrete on its press release shares the spirit of this event by saying, “We hope a lot of people will be attending this bazaar. Please make a meaningful memories for children with us.”
