Added New Heartbreaking Stills of “The Throne” (Sado) Starring Yoo Ah In Pique Interest
Following the release of movie poster and trailer video last week, Yoo Ah In’s upcoming historical movie The Throne (Sado), released more stills just early this week.
Director Lee Jun Ik quoted as saying, he would show how Yeongjo’s emotions toward Prince Sado evolve from happy to anticipation, then anger and hatred. It all comes from a father who obsess over his son.
The stills pretty sum up what this film wants to convey, and critics are waiting in high anticipation. I surely need to stash a box of tissues on my seat while watching this.
Sometimes called Korea’s “Coffin King”, Sado has been described as insane, depraved and sadistic, but when you examine his short life, it’s more complicated than a list of acts of savagery. The Throne will be expressing a human side of Prince Sado (Yoo Ah In) and the emotional turbulence with his father (Song Kang Ho). Yeongjo’s obsession with Prince Sado is coming into focus as the cause of the tragedy and Sado education fervor.
The synopsis is simple: “Yeongjo, a father who had to be a king at all times. Sado, a crown prince who wanted to be a son for just one moment. A story about the most tragic family history ever recorded.”
The Throne sets to première on the last week of September 2015.
