Yoo Ah In to Attend The 20th Busan International Film Festival Open Talk
The 20th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) opens Thursday, October 1st, with more than 300 movies from 75 countries including 94 world premieres on the screening schedule. The festival will take place for ten days.
As previously reported, Yoo Ah In’s box office movie Veteran is invited to the festival. The BIFF committee stated that Veteran along with The Assassination have boosted the local cinemas after experiencing the sluggish state for some time. This is the first time in Korean cinema history two films exceeded 10 million admissions at the same year.
Veteran, starring Hwang Jung Min and Yoo Ah In, will be lining up in “Korean Cinema Today” section in Panorama category.
On early September, the committee officially invited Yoo Ah In to attend this prestigious event as well.
Yoo Ah In will be attending the 20th Busan International Film Festival Open Talk in person communicating with the fans.
The 20th Busan International Film Festival provides ‘Open Talk’ to allow the audience to interact with guests from most issue-making films. This event, with Korean and international guests, will be held from October 2nd to 5th over 4 days on the Outdoor Stage at the BIFF Village, Haeundae.
Open Talk is hosted by the BIFF Film Press Association and the Korean Journalist Association. Korean and international directors and actors are selected to participate in this event. The Open Talk consisted of interviews with the stars involving a moderator.
For this year, three Korean stars got the honor to get invited to attend the BIFF Open Talk. They are Lee Jung Jae (Assassination), Yoo Ah In (Veteran, The Throne), and the Cannes winner Jeon Do Yeon (Shameless). French director/actress Sophie Marceau, American producer/actor Harvey Keitel, Japan Academy winners Masami Nagasawa and director Hirokazu Koreeda will participate in the Open Talk as well.
Yoo Ah In is scheduled to attend the Open Talk and meet audience directly on October 3rd, at 5 p.m KST. He will talk about his acting lives and being the new member of “10 million actors” club.
Meanwhile, Yoo Ah In’s partner in The Throne, actor Song Kang Ho, is going to host the opening ceremony of the 20th BIFF. He will be co-hosting with Afghanistani actress named Marina Golbahari. This is the first time in 14 years since Song Kang Ho hosted the BIFF. He was chosen because of his reputation and has a record of 30 million viewers from various movies.
The 20th Pusan International Film Festival will be held from October 1 to 10th.
