Yoo Ah In is Nominated For Best Actor in The 36th Blue Dragon Film Awards 2015

More good news for our talented actor Yoo Ah In! πŸ˜€

The 2015 hits maker actor Yoo Ah In is nominated for Best Actor category in The 2015 Blue Dragon Film Awards from the movie The Throne (Sado).

This is his second nomination in Blue Dragon Awards during his acting career. In 2007, Yoo Ah In entered the 28th Blue Dragon Film Awards as the nominee for Best New Actor from the movie Skeletons In The Closet.

The 36th Blue Dragon Film Awards committee announced the list of all the nominees on November 10th. There are 16 award categories for the competition (put aside the popularity awards, such as Popular Star Award and Audience Choice Award/Most Popular Film); from Best Film, Director, Leading Actor and Actress, Supporting Actor and Actress, to Best Short Film.

Yoo Ah In’s two box office movies,Β Veteran and The Throne, are the films which got the most nominations along with Assassination. Veteran got a total of 10 nominations, and The ThroneΒ a total of 9 nominations.

Yoo Ah In will compete against his seniors in the best actor category, including Song Kang Ho and Hwang Jung Min, who play alongside Yoo Ah In in The Throne and Veteran.

Yoo Ah In is the youngest nominee and the first actor under 30s who is nominated for the Best Actor in The Blue Dragon Film Awards ever! (Note: Song Joong Ki was nominated for the New Actor, while Kim Soo Hyun only won popularity award in 2012).

Yoo Ah In is also the first actor whose two movies are selected to enter the final nominations (both are also the most nominations) in The Blue Dragon Awards. Sooo proud of YOO!Β

The Blue Dragon Film Awards (Hangul: μ²λ£‘μ˜ν™”μƒ) is an annual awards ceremony that is presented by Sports Chosun for excellence in film in South Korea. The Blue Dragon Awards and the Grand Bell Awards are the two most popular film awards in Korea.

The Blue Dragon Film Awards considers only blockbusters and popular movies of high artistic value released during the previous year. The selection is based on the survey among the enthusiastic filmmakers and film industry’s professionals.

During the selection process, about 21 movies that have made it to the final list are screened to the public for free. After the screening of each selection, the awards ceremony opens. This year’s Blue Dragon Awards will hold the free screening from Thursday, November 12th, to Friday the 20th, at CGV Yeouido.

The award ceremony will take place at Kyung Hee University’s Peace Palace Hall in Seoul on November 26th, and will broadcast live on SBS from 20:45 KST.

As my friend Fandomscape told me, it is an ultimate honor and privilege for Yoo Ah In to enter the race with the other four seniors in the Best Actor category. Nomination itself is already an affirmation and encouragement. Sooo, big congrats on being the nominee, Master Sik! Fighting!! πŸ˜€
