Yoo Ah In’s films The Throne (Sado) and Veteran are selected as TOP 5 Best Korean Film by China’s largest online community “Dou Ban”. The Throne is chosen as the best Korean movie of the year.

Douban China released its Top 10 High Rated List of Movies, Books, Musics and other works in China every end of the year. Douban is the largest and most authoritative online community of sharing and commenting books, movies, music and other works in China, with more than one hundred million monthly unique visitors.

Dou Ban is a very reliable platform where Chinese film buffs lurk, and most of the time they just talk about American and European films. Douban’s top lists are known as solid and honest. The members of Douban rave about Yoo Ah In’s performance as the Crown Prince Sado in The Throne, which is exceptional, since a lot of them don’t even watch Korean films.

TOP 10 high rated list of Korea movies in 2015 chosen by DOUBAN:

1. THE THRONE 사도 8.3
2. Ode to My Father 8.2
3. Assassination 8.1
4. Salut D’Amor 7.8
5. VETERAN 베테랑 7.5
6. Beauty Inside 7.5
7. How to Steal A Dog 7.4
8. Right Now, Wrong Then 7.4
9. Miss Wife 7.3
10. Chronicle of Blood 7.2

Besides earning much praises from the critics and winning the Best Actor in the 2015 Blue Dragon Film Awards for his role in The Throne, Yoo Ah In’s passion in acting was revealed by a veteran actor Cha Sun Bae, and got much praise as well.

On November 4th broadcast of MBC ‘Golden Fishery – Radio Star’, the new faces of veteran actors became the guest stars.

On this day, actor Cha Sun Bae who plays in The Throne as the Crown Prince Sado’s eunuch, praises Yoo Ah In.

“There was a scene where Yoo Ah In banged his head over and over again against the fake stone floor. But he was too immersed that he banged his head against the real stone and his head was bleeding,” he says.

“Normally, people will ask to stop filming, clean the blood and tend the wound. But Yoo Ah In didn’t do it, and instead kept filming.”

He adds, “He just rubbed ointments to the wound and resumed shooting.”

This causes much surprise to the host. The host asks, “So that was the real wound?” (the footage video shows Yoo Ah In’s talking and banging head while his forehead was bleeding).

Cha Sun Bae replies, “Yes, that’s the real blood dripping from his forehead.”

Kim Gura’s Pumpkin Seed, December 2015 broadcast, also gushed over Yoo Ah In’s dedication to acting when they found out the blood dripping from his forehead in The Throne was actually Yoo Ah In’s real blood. Watch the clips: part 1, part 2
