Yoo Ah In’s Studio Concrete Holds 1st Anniversary With A Photo Exhibition Featuring Song Hye Kyo, Song Joong Ki And More

Studio Concrete portfolio/activities over the past 2014.11 – 2016.04

Yoo Ah In’s creative studio, “Concrete” (widely known as “Studio Concrete”), is celebrating the first anniversary by holding a showcase of the studio’s last 365 days history in a form of a photo exhibition.

The “CONCRETE 365” Photo Exhibition showcases Studio Concrete’s activities over the past year, from the first time it was founded in 2014 to the end of 2015. As you can see in the studio’s official instagram, Studio Concrete with Yoo Ah In have already had a long list of works, which is a very impressive accomplishment for a one year-old organization. You can check their complete works in Studio Concrete official website as well.

From the first issue of Tom Paper Magazine in fall 2014, 1TO10 Series Project, exhibitions and charity events, to Tom Paper 4th issue this spring 2016, Yoo Ah In and Studio Concrete have been very consistent in supporting the budding artists, and introducing the concept of “art” in a down-to-earth way to many people, as well as aiding the children and youth development programs. (Read some articles about Studio Concrete’s activities that we wrote here).

The  “CONCRETE 365” Photo Exhibition opened on May 5, 2015, the same day as Yoo Ah In’s Studio Concrete 2nd Flea Market Charity For Children. We can imagine how busy the whole crew were in preparing two events at the same time!

In the exhibition, it was revealed that besides the regular bestie Jung Yumi, the studio’s loyal supporter (she gave the puppy Takku to the studio and was Tom Paper’s model), other actors such as Song Joong Ki, Song Hye Kyo, and Bae Jung Nam also participated in the photo project.

Song Joong Ki visited Studio Concrete for the first time after he was dispatched from the army on May 30, 2015 (see here), while Song Hye Kyo first hung out in Studio Concrete around April 2015. She particularly joined Yoo Ah In’s self-designed t-shirt “1TO10 Series charity project.

Most of Yoo Ah In’s photos showcased in the exhibition were the B-cuts taken during the work of Tom Paper 1st issue, Concrete’s meetings and activities. They also released a 256 pages of CONCRETE 365 limited edition book as part of the anniversary celebration, with Yoo Ah In on the cover~

Song Hye Kyo’s photo was taken in 2015 for the 1TO10 Series Campaign in Studio Concrete, and is featured in today’s exhibition too~

Jung Yumi and the Studio Concrete’s mascot dog “Takku”, joined Yoo Ah In’s self-designed 1TO10 Series t-shirt project, and are featured in the exhibition including the B-cut of Tom Paper 2015 magazine~

Jung Yumi also visited CONCRETE 365 Photo Exhibition on May 8, 2016, and strike a pose again~^^

And also Esom, who was featured in Tom Paper latest edition, S/S 2016 by Studio Concrete~

Though we’ve seen some of these photos, when we look at them again, we can’t help to admire the artistic touch of each photo🙂 Let’s check some more photos featured in the exhibition, including Yoo Ah In and the cute Takku, and the overall exhibition space~

This is just one of Yoo Ah In’s heartfelt emails to his Studio Concrete’s crews, which were featured in this exhibition too~

Guess which one is Master Sik?😀

Yoo Ah In also updated his instagram on May 7th, with a couple of his photos from the exhibition, with hastag #CONCRETE365

Yoo Ah In, once again, proved that he is not just an actor who “acts” but a true artist🙂

Thanks so much for the report! As you said, he’s not only an actor who acts but a true artist! I really wish someday I can go to Korea and appreciate his art via Studio Concrete by my own eyes 😊 Oh, do you mind translating the heartfelt email? Thank you so much for informing Yoo Ah In & Studio Concrete in detail. I wanted to go for this event. I wanted to purchase a T-shirt of Balance 5.(>o<)

  3. Ren says:

SongSong delulu fans kept saying they both attended the party and didn’t accept the fact that those photos were taken last year. lol delulu af.

    • Sophia says:

I’m laughing my ass off reading Song-Song delulu’s comments on IG. So annoying as hell. They don’t even know what Studio Concrete is, and act like they suddenly know everything about it. This isn’t a child’s play.

  4. Yasuyo says:

Being an artist, working with artists, raising future artists, and take action through donating…This first anniversary must be unforgettable for Master Sik! Congrats! Yoo are awesome!!!
