Now let’s get on the first two weeks of September~!

— Yoo Ah In Fanbase (@SIKseekers) August 31, 2016
Yoo Ah In was spotted at Boon The Shop, Cheongdam-dong on September 2nd, with a designer-friend. He looked super cheerful 😊
In the September 5 interview, actor Gong Yoo mentioned Yoo Ah In as one of his thoughts when he accepted the movie script. Gong Yoo is promoting his new film “The Age of Shadow” with Song Kang Ho.
Gong Yoo said in the interview that when he received the film script, though he was not sure if he will/won’t join the cast, he thought that the tension that comes with acting alongside senior Song Kang Ho must feel so interesting. He added, “Though the tension in this film [The Age of Shadow] is not a continuation of that in ‘Sado’ [between Song Kang Ho and Yoo Ah In], I thought to myself that it must be really fun to act like these two [Song Kang Ho and Yoo Ah In), with such a great emotions.” Well, who would refuse acting alongside Song frikkin Kang Ho, anyway?
September 6, following the CF Making, Sesa Living 2016 FW released full interview with sweet Yoo Ah In
September 8, Sesa Living exclusive model Yoo Ah In was featured in Naver main page~

Also, at the same day, Japan news reported that Yoo Ah In’s romcom film ‘Like For Likes’ will be down in Japan cinemas from October 15, 2016 with new poster design ^^ See the comparison below~

Still on September 8, Studio Concrete’s new t-shirt design”Aerospace” was in the making. Yoo Ah In and his artist team pulled an all-nighter to finish the project before the deadline~
Back to Gong Yoo again.
Gong Yoo is touted by Korean press as following Yoo Ah In’s path, of course, for the solid reasons. Yoo Ah In became the king of 2015 Summer Box Office through ‘Veteran’, wherein he recorded over 13 million viewers since its premiere on August 2015, which brought him into the ’10 million actors club’. In September 2015, he acted alongside Song Kang Ho in ‘Sado’ (The Throne), which drew in over 5.6 million viewers to the cinema. In October 2015, Yoo Ah In began acting in an epic, award-winning series, ‘Six Flying Dragons’.
This summer, Gong Yoo took his turn. He managed to get into the ’10 million actors club’ for the first time in his career through ‘Train to Busan’ [together with Jung Yumi and Ma Dong Seok], which gathered over 11 million ticket sales. And just like Yoo Ah In, he acts alongside Song Kang Ho in ‘The Age of Shadow’, which premieres this September too, and will then make a comeback in a TV series soon. No wonder that the media keeps harping on the connection between these two actors in Gong Yoo’s articles. Like this one:
In his interview with StarSeoul, September 9th, Gong Yoo was asked how he felt being compared to Yoo Ah In’s success. He answered, “Being compared to Yoo Ah In’s last year success is a good thing and it pleases me. Although we are not close acquaintances [we don’t know each other on a personal level], I think that he’s a cool unique hoobae.” Wise answer, sunbae.
In another article released at the same day, Song Kang Ho praised both actors.
In a recent interview with 10Asia, senior actor Song Kang Ho was asked a question about his feeling working with Yoo Ah In (‘Sado’/’The Throne’) and Gong Yoo (‘The Age of Shadows’).
He was asked, “You worked in ‘Sado’ alongside Yoo Ah In, and now you have worked with Gong Yoo. How different does it feel working with these two?”
Song Kang Ho answered, “Both of them hit the ten million mark in the summer (laughing).”
Song Kang Ho continued, “These two have different energy. Yoo Ah In has an insane energy, while Gong Yoo has a gentle pure energy. I can say with confidence that both of them are hard workers.” Aww, the best sunbae indeed.
Netizens’ Top 3 comments under the article are all for Yoo Ah In:
[+2719, -101] Yoo Ah In’s acting definitely gave me goose bumps
[+2300, -78] Yoo Ah In’s acting in ‘Sado’ is memorable
[1784, -71] ‘Sado’ is the best movie of 2015, it was also the best acting of the year for Song Kang Ho and Yoo Ah In.
September 9, Yoo Ah In posted Studio Concrete’s new exhibition ‘They Live’ poster. This exhibition is a collaboration with Verythings Studio.
#TheyLive #Verythings #StudioConcrete
Yoo Ah In wrote a long caption under the picture. Here are the rough translations:
“In this city we are [part of] the ‘nature’, but have we ever deeply thought about it for once?” – Uhm Hong Sik [Yoo Ah In’s real name]
Studio Concrete together with VERYTHINGS present “THEY LIVE: they are alive” exhibition. The exhibition illustrates the birth of life relationship that exists between two products of nature through the eyes of Verythings. The 1st floor Exhibition Hall presents the”MUSHROOMING TOWER”, shaping the visualization of our lives by using mushrooms and concrete materials. The 2nd floor presents the “Vastness: Energy Something” by photographer Shin Seon Hye, talking about existence through stones and mineral objects. Author Kim Hoon will showcase the most unexpectedly beautiful moments of nature through “Regression Instinct” collage video. Through this exhibition, not only becoming a pure natural healing by watching the natural materials, but we also hope that we’re able to expand our aesthetic value and have the chance to enjoy and love the natural spectrum.
During the exhibition [Sep.10~Oct.4], visitors can buy the plants called “cubism pollen”, and all profit from sales will be donated to Lou Gehrig Foundation. Brilliant! In addition to that, Studio Concrete & Verythings were giving away the Mushroom Grow Box Kit and Cubism Planter during Chuseok 14~16 September to the visitors, so that they could experience “the fun of growing mushrooms yourself at home”. Wow!
After posting the exhibition poster, suddenly Yoo Ah In posted another “selfie” from FaceTime app~^^
He said, “Yo, call me!”😀
Meanwhile, in Studio Concrete’s instagram, Yoo Ah In gave his forewords on the “THEY LIVE” exhibition poster~

The first half of the caption is the same as Yoo Ah In’s IG post, except at the end; it quotes Studio Concrete’s curator: “The Plant is fine, the people are fucked.” Now, here are the translations of Yoo Ah In’s part:
We can never be absolutely perfect. Each of us has a different understanding, each of us has different desires, yet only in the nature we can live our life naturally. By any means, all these contradictions sewn in the ‘us’ and ‘nature’ relationship. I would like to show this contradiction completely through this exhibition, and to ask questions on myself and all the people of the city, “We are [part of] the ‘nature’, but have we ever deeply looked into it for once?”
Founder 엄홍식 [Uhm Hong Sik]
And again, as the founder of Studio Concrete, Yoo Ah In gave another passionate presentation at the “THEY LIVE” Exhibition private view event on September 9th.
He took a photo together with all Studio Concrete crews/staff/artists ^^
He took photos together with the visitors too😀
Some photos from the exhibition, taken by ND from DC~
September 10, Yoo Ah In posted his letter to Studio Concrete in his instagram. The letter was featured in the exhibition as well.
Since this is an effin long letter, we need lots of time to translate his super beautiful and brilliant thoughts. But, here is what our sweet translator-nim managed to translate/understand within the limited free time she has right now [complete translations will be up in another new post]:
First, Yoo Ah In introduces the exhibition, and how it attempts to show a romantic relationship between art pieces and nature.
Then, he starts to make the letter a personal journal of his relationship with nature, as someone who has been living in the big city Seoul for 14 years. [He weaves his real life stories into his writings masterfully. He shares how he views things in hindsight. He also knows how to poke fun at himself].
One story stood out to me. It’s about when he moved to his first house. He makes fun of himself for following the trend back then -The Green Living, purchasing green decor items/plants – without much contemplation.
He bought a big tree and placed it in the middle of the living room. He gave the tree a name: Bob. He talks about how he developed a friendship with Bob. He used to greet the tree every morning, he used to water it and have conversations with Bob. And sometimes he just had silent conversations with it. Sadly, Bob has died on him. And he laments about how Bob has been replaced in his life with inanimate decor objects, such as cushions, vases and plates.
Then he says, “I remember having conversations with him (Bob) in my house. And these conversations will remain secret”.
By replacing Bob with inanimate decor objects, Yoo Ah In thought this contradicted decisions are referred to “natural” thing. He admits that he’s not a “funky natural person”, but to a certain extent he knew this wasn’t looking quite like ‘Urban Nature’ or ‘Urban life’.
In the rest paragraphs, Yoo Ah In explains the reason why the exhibition showcases mushrooms. He says, mushrooms are not ornamental nature, and for some people it maybe just disgusting creatures. He really appreciates Verythings Studio for creating a mushroom village. He wondered how he can fully showcase the “humility and purity” lovely trap represented by the mushroom to the world with his hands. He is very honored to have been able to introduce this great piece to the people of the city in Studio Concrete. At the same time, he is worried that this could turn to the natural arts arrogance.
At the end of his letter, Yoo Ah In says, “We can never be absolutely perfect. Each of us has a different understanding, each of us has different desires, yet only in the nature we can live our life naturally. By any means, all these contradictions sewn in ‘us’ and ‘nature’ relationship. Thus, I would like to show this contradiction completely through this exhibition, and to ask the question to myself and all the people of the city, ‘We are [part of] the ‘nature’, but have we ever deeply looked into it for once?’. They are alive, and we are alive.”
September 10, Big Bang’s G-Dragon (Kwon Jin Young) aka GD, reenacted Yoo Ah In’s character Jo Tae Oh from “Veteran” in Infinity Challenge’s “Infinity Company Special (Muhan Company Special)” episode.
Big Bang’s G-Dragon joined the Infinity Challenge’s “Infinity Company” Special episode, which started from August 27th. The show has released still cuts showing GD sitting on the desk with nameplate “Managing Director Kwon Ji Young”, while he was looking arrogantly at the camera. G-Dragon’s fashion style and acting created a similar atmosphere with that of Yoo Ah In in the movie “Veteran”, which raised viewers’ anticipation.
The Infinite Challenge ‘Infinity Company’ Aug 27 broadcast featured the individual meetings, on-site script reading and making the teaser video. The full movie episode was broadcast on Sep 10.
Now, here are clips from the August 27 broadcast, which sent fans to go frenzy with comparison between Kwon Jin Young and Yoo Ah In:

And finally, here’s a short clip of G-Dragon reenacted Yoo Ah In and his famous line from Veteran: “how ridiculous!” from Infinite Challenge’s Sep.10 broadcast~

Talking about Veteran, this just out on Blu-ray: Korean movie “Veteran”, via yesasia [as you know, the special DVD has released since July 7, which is not in blu-ray]. This version comes out with limited package. Preorder via Yesasia now.
2016.09.12 KBS Entertainment Weekly presents Hotstargram: Yoo Ah In’s Attraction
Still about Veteran, tvN and OCN were airing “Veteran” for the Chuseok Movie Special program on September 16 and 17. The funny teaser came out on Sep.14😀
— Yoo Ah In Fanbase (@SIKseekers) September 14, 2016
And of course, Veteran and Yoo Ah In made to TOP 10 trending topic on Naver right after the movie was aired on tvN~^^ Veteran sat on NO.1 while Yoo Ah In NO.8
— Yoo Ah In Fanbase (@SIKseekers) September 17, 2016
Meanwhile, Yoo Ah In took on his spatula and turned to Chef Uhm in Chuseok/Mid Autumn Festival, September 15. He cooked a special ramyeon for his friends🙂
— Yoo Ah In Fanbase (@SIKseekers) September 17, 2016
And these two “cryptic” posts were just in right in Chuseok holidays, September 16~
Something like “new world order”? Hmm..
What’s with the emo? 😂
Last but not least, remember when I wrote that Yoo Ah In and BewhY would post a proof shot of them rubbing shoulder in the future? Well, it finally came true!😀
Just this morning, September 17, Yoo Ah In had a meeting with non other than… Show Me The Money 5 (SMTM 5) winnner: BewhY! The Studio Concrete rep Cha Hae Young posted a photo of Yoo Ah In and BewhY together for/after breakfast in Yoo Ah In’s favorite restaurant PARC, with caption: “morning meeting”😀
Yoo Ah In was showing his goofy expression while BewhY covering his mouth with V sign😀
Yoo Ah In is known as BewhY’s fan. He openly supported BewhY during SMTM 5, by posting the rapper’s photo alongside his praise on the caption, and a proof shot of his vote for BewhY last July in his instagram (read complete story here). Their meetup piques curiosity of both fans, since they are probably cooking something up together.
Whether BewhY would be the model for Studio Concrete’s new tee project or Yoo Ah In would get involved in his project, either way, I’m super excited and looking forward to their future collaboration!
Check more photos in our Facebook album. Happy Chuseok, everyone!
