[PHOTOS & TRANSLATIONS] Yoo Ah In “Burning” Interview with Japan Press in the 2018 Cannes International Film Festival

Picking up where we left off, having had the interviews with Korean and French press, Yoo Ah In, Steven Yeun and Jun Jong Seo landed a short interview with Movie Plus Japan as well on May 18 in Cannes. The interview was broadcast on Movie Plus Japan website on May 24.

The “Burning” actors introduced themselves and greeted the viewers through Movie Plus Japan instagram from Le Majestic private beach, Cannes. Yoo Ah In said, “Please, don’t miss watching the Burning movie in Japan”.

Since the video is copyrights protected, we cannot share from Movie Plus Japan website. Of course, we would like to work on the English subtitles when Movie Plus Japan upload the video on Youtube someday 🙂

Luckily, a Japan fan, akaminoandlulu, has screencapped the segment nicely, so that we got to know what Yoo Ah In was talking about without waiting for too long.

These are brief translations on Yoo Ah In’s short interview and greeting with Japan Movie Plus:

Q: What’s your impression on Cannes?

Yoo Ah In: Cannes is the place of the international film festival, and so it is filled with energy and good atmosphere/spirit. It is a great honor to be here with the movie “Burning”.

Q: What’s your impression on Steven Yeun?

Yoo Ah In: I met him at the shooting of this work for the first time. It was my first time seeing him, who recognized his role deeply, and I thought he has his own sense of acting. During the time we acted together, I got along very well with him, just like two characters of this film destined to meet, and through the continuous shooting he showed many sides that surprised me.

Q: Please say something to Japanese fans.

Yoo Ah In: Since the film was adapted from the Japanese work, it feels like a mysterious connection. I am so happy to say hello through this film ‘Burning’ to my many fans– not so many, really (laugh). I would appreciate it if you enjoy watching or sympathize with this film. It’s an honor to see this movie on TV or in theaters in Japan. Please, look for it. I’d be happy if you enjoy “Burning”.

Last but not least, check out some more photos and the photoshoot of Yoo Ah In with foreign press in Cannes:
