Yoo Ah In Confirmed For Netflix New Drama “Goodbye Earth” (The Fool of the End)
New year, new confirmed work!
Previously reported, Yoo Ah In was in talk to star as a priest in Netflix original series “The Fool At the End of the World,” also known as “The End’s Fool” and “The Fool of the End”.
On January 13, Netflix announced that the pre-apocalyptic Earth series will go with the title GOODBYE EARTH and has confirmed its main cast: Yoo Ah In, Ahn Eun Jin, Jeon Seong Woo, and Kim Yoon Hye.
GOODBYE EARTH, which is a work based on the novel by Kōtarō Isaka, centers around chaos on Earth as people are notified that they have only 200 days left to live before an asteroid hits the planet. The drama tells the stories of four individuals living through the chaotic situation.
Ahn Eun Jin is set to play Jin Se Kyung, a former middle school tutor who turns to a volunteer worker trying to protect children in danger in Ungcheon City Hall.
Yoo Ah In, who was first rumored to play the role of priest, has confirmed that he takes on the role of Ha Yoon Sang, Se Kyung’s longtime boyfriend. He is a researcher of the Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology, and he leaves the safety of the United States to be by Se Kyung’s side in Korea, an area that is in danger.
Jeon Seong Woo will play Woo Sung Jae, an assistant priest who takes care of people of the church after his senior goes missing.
Kim Yoon Hye’s character Kang In Ah is a military commander who tries to contain the chaos as Ungcheon has fallen to ruins.
Director Kim Jin Min (Extracurricular, My Name) will direct the series, and screenwriter Jung Sung Joo (SECRET LOVE AFFAIR, Heard It Through the Grapevine) will pen it down. The drama is currently completing final preparations to begin filming soon.
GOODBYE EARTH will be broadcast on Netflix and released as a lineup in 2023.
