[PHOTOS & VIDEOS] Update On Yoo Ah In’s Drama Jang Ok Jung Week VII
Happy weekend SIKseekers~ back on our regular update, shall we? Now that the palace intrigue takes control and Jang Ok Jung jumps to politics in full swing, episode 13 and 14 need you to chew more when you’re watching.
Here’s my brief view:
Okjung (OJ) jumps on board as political machine for Lee Soon (LS). Both of them now have the same goal; imposing the Southern Party to the court to balance the power of Western Party.
LS actually knows that OJ is using him in regards to Queen Inhyun (IH), but it’s not OJ’s sole intention when she lures him in the consummation night of LS and IH. Her bigger goal is to regain the influence of Southern Party in court, starting from making Minister Jo to hold responsible on the construction of a fortress. This is exactly the same plan that LS has in his head at that moment. Great people think alike, okies.
OJ tells LS to use her to make way for his political gains and she’ll take all the blames (by making retainers accuse her a whisper pillow). From then on LS makes OJ his political partner, not a mere concubine.
Jae Hee shows up, finally! In his gloriousness! And IH shows her true colors too (thank God, she finally shows her ‘human’ side).
OJ gets a lesson from LS about an absolute power, which is very much Machiavellian, that actually describes the true characteristic of LS. While IH gets a lesson from LS that she cares only about customs and rules before people, so that’s why they can never come together as a couple.
Now let’s see some news around~
Yoo Ah In and Kim Tae Hee attended “Jang Ok Jung, Live In Love” second press conference/press meeting (I consider this as a promotional event for the drama) right at the shooting location, Goyang, 24th May.
At the press meeting Yoo Ah In talked several things about the drama. Here are some news we gathered so far~
♥ Allkpop quoted as saying, Yoo Ah In lost his weight while filming ‘Jang Ok Jung’.
“Everyone gets worn out when shooting a drama, and for me, I lost 7kg. I lost a lot of weight, but I don’t think it shows on screen.”
In regards to the lacking ratings, he commented optimistically, “I heard the viewer ratings are rising, but it’s difficult to say that it’s out of this world. There are dedicated viewers, which means something. I want to use the time left to appeal more to the public. I believe the beginning of the drama was just to lay down the foundation for another side of Jang Ok Jung. In the future, [we] plan to create a convincing story on top of that solid foundation.”
♥ Yoo Ah In vented his frustrations over his character lately on his twitter account. And reporters asked him about this matter. Here’s article of him giving the explanation~ Yoo Ah In: “Sukjong’s character makes me feel stuffy”
♥ Yoo Ah In apologizes to Hong Soo Hyun for always giving her cold shoulder and stern look, or even ignoring her. lol that can’t be helped 😀
